The Friars will look to bounce back in Irving on Friday after opening the season with a 44-21 home loss to Texas High at Roffino Stadium.

The Tigers (1-0) amassed 588 yards of offense, with most of their damage being done in the middle two periods, during which Texas High scored 37 points.

The Friars (0-1) displayed an impressive ground game (243 yards) which helped the team put together 377 offensive yards, but were unable to put the lid on the Texas High passing game. Tiger quarterback Cade Pearson passed for 439 yards and five touchdowns.

Jaire Moore paced the Bishop Lynch attack with 180 yards on the ground, Jarek Broussard scored a pair of touchdowns and Jermaine Mask found the end zone as well.

After a scoreless first period, Texas High scored 17 straight in the first half of the second quarter to take a 17-0 lead. Broussard dazzled the crowd for BL's first points of the season, cutting through and around the Tiger defense on a 10-yard scoring run. Carson Garrett made the first of three PATs and cut the deficit to 17-7.

Texas High would pad its lead before the break and took a 23-7 lead into halftime.

The Friars, however, came out swinging in the second half, capping off a drive with Mask's 22-yard TD run to make it 23-14. The Tigers would answer with two scores of their own and led 37-14 after three frames.

Jagger LaRoe connected with Broussard in the fourth on a 32-yard touchdown pass, bringing the Friars within 37-21, then had a chance to make it a one-possession game, driving the ball down inside the Texas High 10-yard line. But, on 4th and goal, LaRoe was sacked, ending the Friars final threat.

Bishop Lynch will take its show on the road Friday, looking to pull its record even against the Irving Tigers (0-1). The teams will meet at Irving Schools Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
