Lady Friars' streaks remain intact

Bishop Lynch saw just one opponent during the last week and kept a few impressive streaks going as the second half of district play got off to a great start.

The top-ranked Lady Friars (22-7, 9-0) had Tuesday off but hosted John Paul II on Thursday, sweeping the Cardinals by scores of 25-13, 25-19 and 25-12.

In doing so, the team's streaks of overall wins (12), district wins (41) and consecutive sets won (31) remained safe.

Madi Tyus showed no mercy for JP2, hammering down a game-high 16 kills while Melanie Heigele shined once again with 36 assists and 12 digs.

Other key contributors included Bri Kipp (6 kills, 3 blocks), Lauryn Green (8 kills, 3 blocks), Morgan Hinds (12 digs) and Natalie Bennett (11 digs).

Bishop Lynch will be home again Tuesday when it hosts Parish Episcopal at 6 p.m.
