On Saturday, February 7th, the Bishop Lynch High School Mock Trial team captured the Region 10 Mock Trial Championship, advancing to the Texas State Championship March 5th – 7th.

The team from Lynch earned their spot in the Region 10 Mock Trial Competition during the preliminary round the weekend before. During which, they defeated the reigning state champions! Due to their stellar performance, BL secured a spot in the top 8 of 34 teams, moving them to the finals.

After a grueling day competing in the Region 10 Finals in Downtown Dallas, the BL Mock Trial defeated Plano West High School in the third round, qualifying them for the state tournament. In the fourth round, the team took on last year’s state runner-up, Richardson High School. After a solid victory, the Bishop Lynch Mock Trial earned the Region 10 Championship for the first time in the school’s history.

“The dedication of these students is so hard to describe, and their efforts were beyond my expectations,” said Mock Trial Coach, Mrs. Beth Storm.

The team will now spend the next few weeks diligently preparing for the Texas State Championship in Downtown Dallas, where they hope to return home as the new state champions!
